It used to be easy to know which mobile phone number belongs to which network. In the past, there are just a few variations. However, more mobile number prefixes have been created to suffice the demands for more numbers, especially that Filipinos are fond of keeping dual SIM phones to easily get connected with family and friends who are using the same network.

For Filipinos, having the same network with people they usually communicate with can save their money. Philippine mobile phone area codes usually start with the number “9” and are composed of three digits. The area code indicates the service provider rather than the geographical location.
